I am a junior in college hoping to land an IB internship this summer, should I learn how to do modeling or just wait for the bank to teach me?

You:
I have read in other threads on WSO that they have you learn those things in the training, and that you didn't need to. So I am just wondering.
If you want the job, act and train yourself as if you already have it and nobody is there to train you.
You have the accumulated knowledge of mankind- including finance- at your finger tips, use it man.
Good luck
some firms may introduce an intensive one week programme that will teach you all the basics and industrial knowledge, but some again will require basic ideas, e.g. how do the 3 financial statements connect, DCF, valuation methods.....
therefore have a look at the job requirements
thanks guys. appreciate it.
Better to learn ahead of time, so you can perform when you get there
thanks! appreciate all the help guys.
