fucked up this semester, recruiting chances?

hello,

unfortunately I have fucked up this semester and my GPA will drop to 3.6 - is it still worth the time to network and apply for BB/EB banking and PE roles for summer 2022 (current sophomore)? i feel like there are so many target kids with 3.8, 3.9+ so wondering whether it is worth my time or if I should pivot to less competitive areas of finance

things I do have going for me:

-working at hedge fund with several billion in AUM this summer, one of the ones that ppl sort of jerk off to on this site

-getting an academic paper published

-leadership position in a finance club

-STEM + finance double major

-decent network built up

You can consider to apply to a company outside the US. As your term dates are different from those in some of Europes countries you can apply for an off cycle internships. Much greater chances- a friend of mine got into JP Morgan in Frankfurt - he had a GPA of 3.3 (top10% of his class) and professional experience at IB at BIG4 and a few start up experiences -> so not a great profile

I read about 200-300 resumes every recruiting cycle. I rarely pay attention to the GPA. The only time the GPA catches my attention is if its super low, like below 3.2. But otherwise GPA does matter anywhere near as much as people on WSO make it out to be.
