Full Time hires with MS degree

How does it work if one gets and offer in IBD and he or she has a non MBA master's degree? I know in trading some of my friends were hired as senior or third year analysts. I am trying to decide whether it would make sense for me to spend an extra year to get a masters degree, as I have to make the decision soon.

Thanks

I am currently studying a non-MBA masters, I'll be starting as an analyst. My degree isn't banking related but at a final round interview I was with a girl who is studying for a masters in finance, she also was applying for an analyst position. If you've worked prior and you have a business/finance masters I'd imagine you could start higher, otherwise you'll be at the bottom with the rest of us :)
