How do I learn about deals so I can discuss during interviews?
Are there are any free sites that give you the numbers (multiples, valuation, etc) of current deals in banking?

NYT Dealbook is pretty good as well.
yep, dealbook. I use that as well.
You can always use the company website to find specific deals in specific groups, they'll usually have a bunch listed with numbers. Then you can go through the aforementioned channels to find the multiples and such.
take a look at the proxy statement for acquired public companies...will have writeups of their bankers on due diligence and valuation methodology
Here's the best way to do it:
Let's say for example you have an interview for Moelis. Then google "Moelis 'DEAL NAME' dealbook". You'll get an article that provides you info about the deal. Sometimes it'll be long and have all the metrics you're looking for, but sometimes it'll just have the transaction value. I used to prefer to talk about private deals when I was going through interviews (for obvious reasons). You should talk about the parties involved, metrics (if available), and the rationale for the deal. The three should be sufficient and they will give you follow-up questions if they want to know more, but from what I've seen, it should suffice.
Good luck.
Thanks to everyone for their input...very good advice!

Are there any websites that list/discuss deals organized by industry/bank? I know FT and Dealbook are great sources, but its hard to filter for tech or FIG deals done by specific banks (Im just using those two as examples).
I want to brush up on recent deals by specific BBs since its recruiting season. Does anyone know where I can look?
451 Group and Tech Crunch for tech.
Easiest thing to do is find a deal and Google "[Company A] [Company B] advised by"
I actually have no interest in the tech sector, I just used those for examples. The problem is I dont even know what the deals are in the first place, so Im looking to find a site that has them organized or searchable by industry AND bank?
I founds something semi-useful on Dealbook where you can search Investment Banking news by sector, but even that isnt as useful for looking up recent deals in that sector by specific banks.

Now you just need to find someone that has access to it. It's a pricey tool if you are just trying to look up ibanks in your area doing deals.
