And I FINALLY got an offer for a summer internship at a MM firm. I come from a UK non-target so honestly sooooooo happy to have gotten something. I just wanted to thank the WSO community for everything from the 20 FAQ London edition to the obscure threads that helped me even an iota along the way.

Thank you

Congrats on finally getting there! As a fellow non-target in first year, would you care to elaborate on your journey and what you focused on doing in the lead up to applying for summers?

Thank you! I think it depends on if you're UK or USA. In the UK, focus on applying to springs, and, if at all possible, find a summer internship at a no-name regional boutique (if you live in a city, there will be at least some small firm focused on corp fin). I did spring weeks, which 10000% helped me get my foot in the door. I should have done a summer in first year too. But it doesn't matter now haha
