SA'24 Background Check

Nothing criminal.

Past internship was unpaid so I never had an official offer letter, just an email from the manager telling HR to onboard me, could I present this as proof?

Will they ask the manager what I actually did and compare it with bullet points listed under resume?

Had a family member pass away and quit a little early, will this be a problem?

Gave SB, how would they know if it's paid or unpaid if not specified as unpaid on resume?

well in my experience, you still have to put down the contact for your unpaid internships, but they don't care if they dont answer the background check calls from prob hireright. the bank will just ask you was that unverifiable internship paid or unpaid, and if it was unpaid, they simply dont ask you more questions about it.

plus even if it was paid, offer letter and some form of verification that you can give them will most likely suffice to prove any paid internships that hireright couldn't verify, but they should be able to do so by going through your w2s anyways.

You will have to list on your background check - in my experience they do still check unpaid internships but it's a way lower bar. If your manager still works there their contact info will suffice (or if at a new firm can just provide their new email)

They will solely confirm that you worked there and nothing else (no tasks etc so you are okay for this time; although I would tread carefully in the future if you're really embellishing your duties)

No one cares about quitting early. I assume the dates on your resume are correct. Maybe an issue if the date on your resume is like 3 months longer than actual

Just saw this thread and wanted to ask about planned unpaid internships that ended up not happening. I originally had one line about an unpaid internship on my resume during recruitment that I planned on doing in the summer but I found a paid one instead. Could I just use the paid internship on my background check next year since I never did the unpaid one?
