Thank-you email when you were the only interviewee?
As I understand it, a thank-you email is a way to remind your interviewer that you exist and had an interview with him. However, is it really useful when you were the only one to be interviewed?
I've had several interviews which were quite informal, and I'm starting to question whether sending a "It was great speaking with you" thank-you email isn't perceived as too formal/awkward/hardo. Like, you have a relaxed, even a bit friendly chat, and then you send a generic email that you nearly copy-pasted from WSO?
What are your thoughts on this?
I don’t think it’s ever going hurt. Employers know you are just trying to put your best foot forward to impress them and demonstrate excitement about the opportunity.
