Toronto Corporate Banking Associate Compensation
Hello,
I'm struggling to find good/accurate data points for compensation on corporate banking associates working in Toronto at the Big 5 banks, and was hoping people here could share their knowledge.
For 2022, is Base 115, 125, or 135 for CB Associate 1? Is expected 2022 bonus 40, 50, or 60?

I know that NBF CB is $135k +$45k-$55k and I'm fairly certain that's where CIBC is as well. Not sure about the other banks.
Thanks so much for the data points!
Does anyone have data points for RBC/TD/BMO/Scotia?

This is pretty accurate but your bonus #s are slightly low
Can you elaborate with numbers?

This is the only data available on WSO:
Can confirm that HSBC's bonuses have materially improved since the 2020 data point above; however, the base remains the same.
$80K base for HSBC corporate banking for a new associate? Are you sure about that? How recent was this?
The reason I ask is I had an offer from them for 75K in a Tier 2 canadian city 3 years ago for an analyst position, and I can't imagine an associate only gets 80K in Toronto...

May be stale now given pay bumps, but I had $110-130k base, $50-75k bonus as associate. This is for Toronto.
was that base/bonus like gradually increasing from AS1 to AS3? aka year 1 was 110+50? Also what bank?
Both base and bonus grew with tenure.
This was an international bank.
Corporate banking in London back in the day (2012-2015) used to pay the same base as IB , but slightly lower bonuses. Analyst folks used to be heading home at 6/7 while the IB mouses were grinding well into the night. Great gig if you want to stay in finance, but want to prioritize WLB, and I'd say provides better options for heading into private credit kind of roles
Thanks for the input. Ive noticed it seems like these days private credit is mainly only open to ex-LevFin folks if you’re looking at the high-paying options
