Transitioning from IB to PE - Day to Day
This is a question for all of you that have transitioned from Investment Banking roles to Private Equity either recently during covid or previously in normal times.
- How has the nature of the work and day to day changed for you? Of course, it seems the work is more interesting and hours may be slightly better or at least more predictable (depending on the fund you went to) but it also seems the pressure is greater. Was there any significant shift in what you are doing day to day
- What was the initial transition like (especially starting remotely for those that moved during covid)? How did the work ramp up and how have you adapted to the new role?
I know that I was quite nervous when I started in banking but had a good support system that helped me integrate and ramp-up. Curious whether you guys have had similar experiences in PE.
