What is the best out of this roads to IB?
Hi guys. I am currently an international A-level student in UK. I know that I should chase girls now instead of thinking about IB and stuff but I just like to plan ahead.
First of all can you rank this undergrad schools (these are the schools that I think I will have a real shot at and therefore will apply to) in terms of opportunities in IB and consulting worldwide and in US in particular (my ultimate goal is US):
UCL
Bocconi
Sciences Po
Essec
McGill
U of Toronto
St Andrews
NUS
Bristol
HKU
Then let's assume that I got into any of them (considering non of them are top targets) and what would be better in terms of getting a high finance job in US:
1) Get a MFin straight after undergrad from top target such as HEC Paris, LSE, Oxford, MIT, Princeton and after that try to break in. Possibly get a MBA after a few years of IB. How common is it by the way is getting an MBA after MFin considering you are from Europe where almost everybody have Masters? Would it hurt chances of admission to M7?
2) Work not in top places but still in solid for a few years after undergrad, try different jobs, get experience and stuff and then apply to MBA business schools">M7 without getting MFin. After MBA get an associate position.
Thank you in advance guys - all opinions and comments are highly appreciated!
