Interviewers not in Group Preference - how to go about it?

I received notification of my interviewers names and checked Linkedin to see that they were in much different industry I had ranked as my preference (M&A). I'm not really knowledgable about the groups they are in, and I tailored my behaviorals (why [this firm]? why M&A?) towards the strengths/activities of their M&A group. Should I modify my responses to fit within their group, or should I continue to show interest in M&A, despite my interviewers not being in that group? It's happening pretty soon, and my main worry is to fake interest in their particular group and be unknowledgeable if they dig (whereas I'd be comfortable with M&A, as it's a genuine interest).
