Make friends with other analysts - advice needed

Hey WSOers,

I joined the firm as an Analyst in July 2021. Our class were kind of unlucky since the summer internship was virtual, and the analyst program started virtually too... basically zero opportunity to meet 2021 analysts and 2020 analysts... When we hit the desks, things got busy and I only know fewer than 5 analysts outside my team. But I really want to know more juniors to grab coffee or lunch with, which could make a long, stressful day mush easier; also nice to learn more about other teams.

  1. How could I reach out to other analysts without being awkward (currently an Analyst 2 already)?
  2. Is it possible to become good friends with other analysts (or junior Asso, i.e. class of 2019/2020 analyst)? I know workplace isn't the same as college, but if you don't work in the same division, I think it's fine?
  3. Have you made friends with other juniors that you stay in touch with, after one of you left the firm?

Any advice or story would be appreciated. Thx a lot!
