Struggling to start out

I'm trying to get my career started in Accounting but i'm really struggling. I have 18 months experience with accounts receivables and some audit/analysis work. No relevant education.

Moved to Toronto, Canada for a better chance at getting a job. Been job hunting for several weeks and no interviews or call backs at all.

looked into a Masters program but I don't think my 2:2 mickey mouse degree is going to get me in.

Applied to get onto the CPA PREP courses but still need a job to do in the mean time.

I don't have any connections or anyone to discuss this with, can anyone lay out my options for me please?
