Current investment banking analyst Intern with a full-time offer at financial institution looking for advice
I'm a senior at a non-target school studying accy/fin. I have a 3.57 and have great background experience: 2 years of equity research, both domestic and international companies for various industries, and for the last 12 weeks I've been working at a boutique investment bank in Chicago.
I accepted an offer to Morningstar Development Program in hopes of being able to work in equity research, but a lot of people I've been speaking to are saying I need to make it direct that that's the route I plan on taking, or it's a minimal chance at the end of the 3 years I'll be in it, etc. As a result, I'm not fully committed to Morningstar and still looking at other places, networking, etc.
I was hoping to receive some advice on what I could be doing, possible options I could pursue, or even what people know about Morningstar and my chances of going into equity research there. I would be starting in client service for a couple of months which makes me think my experience will be going down the toilet, so I really want to do what's best for me.
Thanks guys.
