Borat... Star Wars...

Saw the movie last night.

I fake laughed during parts of the movie from peer pressure because everyone else was laughing and didn't want to be the lone contrarian.

I don't get the hype.

Now for real cinema, is anyone doing the Star Wars marathon on Cinemax this weekend or am I the only geek?

nice, u don't like borat and u are excited about the Star Wars marathon this weekend ...... good thing u're a girl; if it weren't for the things on your chest and the funhole in your crotch, u'd never be accepted anywhere

agreed I didn't find it that funny.

I blame MTV: Tom green, jackass, those animal guys, Bam, etc hyped up the whole be a moron for laughs genre.

it's not funny bc anybody "hyped it up," douchebag....it's funny bc it's the type of humor our generation loves right now. u are an idiot for "blaming MTV" - MTV only made those shows bc they were POPULAR (neilsen ratings) and kids LOVED watching them and laughing at them

if MTV could control what is funny and what is not, they'd be more powerful than they are

You know what, I think the real reason I found Borat hilarious and South park is my favorite show is because currently we live in such a politically correct country (world?) that when people do step outside that box it is quite refreshing. Stop being so self conscious about things and don't let people tell you what should be funny or not.

Know this time child, I shall smash your skull like a clam on my tummy.

Why would you compare south park to those? Southpark doesn't use "haha I hit you in the face with a bat and now you are bleeding" type jokes.

not really, that was more of a "thats fucked up" type of sketch

Are you now agreeing with me that Borat and Southpark are similar?

Look, my point is that both are very politically incorrect. They freely make fun of things like Jews, Feminists, Gays, and Jews. If you like one and hate the other, you have a very conflicted sense of humor.

Yeah, I've never had any problem getting accepted. Loved Star Wars since I was old enough to understand the humor in it. (Saw Borat just now, though; thought it was funny but cringe-worthy in places.)

Prospie, I sense much frustration in you. Gettin no love from the geek honeys lately, huh? Might want to remedy that attitude.

i used to be big into star wars, until I got my driver's license hehe

Well the original Star Wars movies are classics and the new ones sucked...as for Borat, it was funny in certain places and dragged out in others, not sure why everyone is raving about it.

I reckon you guys in the States would have more difficulty finding Borat funny purely because it is a crude mockery of contemporary USA. It is very funny for Europeans and particularly Brits (because of the politically tainted humour in parts more than anything else)

From the ghetto....
