Credit concerns??

I think I understand credit concerns but from a very high level. Liquidity is more related to interest rates right? Any one has good articles since I am tired of that word just being thrown around. I sort of understand that the monoline insurers provided their stamp of excellence and bonds took it to get the AAA ratings.

Also, is there any place you can really read as well as understand what is really on their books (like 40 billions cds, 3 billion vie). Obviously this would be estimate but it would be interesting.
