I’m so fed up of this intern. Wtf do I do?

So for context, I’m an intern at a mid market bank. It’s barely been 3 weeks since I joined. Tbh, I’m loving it. Getting to learn a lot and that’s been amazing so far. The people are nice too or so I thought. There’s this other intern who’s been involved with the firm for 3 more months than me. The very first day, the associate told me not to do any of the other intern’s work if he tries delegating. However, if and when he asks for help and say I’m waiting for an approval with not much to do, I occasionally help him out. I did that yesterday too just because I was part of the same deal.
This asshole didn’t explain to me shit and without much context, told me to do some stuff. I did it to the best of my abilities and man’s got the audacity to yell at me. I was genuinely pissed and kept my calm and tried not to create a scene. After him being redundant and rude to me for a task that no longer was needed (the meeting had already started hence no use) I was so fucking done with his bs. He saw that I was frustrated. We didn’t talk at all the entire day and today he saw me and the man’s playful suddenly. We went on a smoking break and this guy started lecturing me (in a concerned and guiding tone) to be more efficient and certain. I get that I’m a bit inefficient as of now partially because this is my first banking job. I’m learning and I’m learning at a pace that I thought wasn’t possible for me. I consider myself more of a hardworking guy than a super genius. I’m honestly very proud of all that I’m doing and my learnings. In a nutshell, what do I do? How do I deal with this guy in particular and how to improve my efficiency so that I’m more of an asset than a liability. Looking for no bs and genuine answers only.
Thanks y’all!

Relax man, it’s 3am. Only skimmed what you wrote but if you’re an intern, and he’s an intern, then who cares. I’m assuming you’re both off-cycle interns doing menial grunt work for free for your group, so you’ll probably all want to work at other places later on. Put in less effort and fill out some lines on your resume instead. If you think personalities like this are annoying, wait til you start full time and realize you’ll have to put up with managing analysts, A2A associates, mba associates, angry vps, useless interns, random requests from other teams etc. You don’t have to do his work, he doesn’t have to do your work, just focus on your own experience you shouldn’t be losing sleep over this.
