Would it be more useful to learn solidity or Python (in your opinion)?

Hey guys, I was wondering which language is more useful to learn esp. with the hype surrounding cryptocurrencies. I know basic python, and wanted to begin creating code to automate mundane tasks. However, I was reconsidering putting my focus on solidity and create a smart contract.

The immediate question when asking such a question is: What do you want to do? To be frank I was thinking about learning solidity first because it should be less time consuming to learn. But I will also learn python eventually.

What do you guys think?
