Seems like Ares' head of ASOF is leaving, perhaps tied to the strategy being rolled into the credit arm of the firm. Anyone in the know as to where he's headed and what this means for ASOF?

Not surprising given Ares's heritage was always on the credit side. You've seen the opposite happen generally across the broader private markets landscape with standout PE managers launching crappy private credit funds/vehicles. I expect most of these to blow up over the next couple years or promptly shuttered. Last year, all recruiters were trying to place either private credit or infra roles. Heading into this year, not so much as a peep and PE recruitment is actually picking up. I think most expect a consolidation of not only players in this space but more streamlined strategies/fund offerings. It's just been such a messy expansion across the board as firms tried to AUM gather the last 3-4 years in particular.
Gonna be bloody out there.
