If comp wasn't a factor, what type of investing would you be most interested in?
Curious what you would find the most fun, professional rewarding, intellectually stimulating, or otherwise attractive area of investing. Could be infra, ESG, HF, microcap, crypto, speculation on tulips, litigation finance, etc.

Oil and Gas - Geopolitics and an interesting space to understand
I get what you mean, but don't you think the space is dying because of green initiatives? Maybe pharma has more geopolitical relevance these days?
For sure, I agree that O&G is dying and the space is going be a big L in the future but I still find it to be intellectually stimulating because of the relevance in emerging markets.
If comp wasn’t a problem I woudn’t have gone for finance,
I’d rather spend my days grooming slopes around the Alps or driving a helicopter.
My ex-roommate's brother is a pretty big deal in this area. He is building terrain parks out in Aspen. No college, he got a lot of experience at our local hill and built a good reputation, leveraged this experience to get into Aspen.
Early stage VC, would much rather make bets on exciting startup ideas / teams than dig through thousands of documents in a data room and run every possible sensitivity analysis to get conviction in an LBO
Why not do it then? The comp trajectory is pretty good (have some friends who work in VC - once you are a partner, at least)
