Choice between two internships
Hi guys,
I am currently studying in a Msc in Finance in a non-target uni.
I recently received two job offers:
-Operations intern in a real estate investment fund-->main responsibilities are Treasury, accounting, controlling, tax.
-Investment analyst.
Operations intern in Unicredit, and investment analyst at Copernicus.
I don't know what's best for me. I already had an intern experience in the administration of a bank and i didn't quite like it... Nonetheless UniCredit is a huge bank and i think is good for CV and networking.
Copernicus is a more little real estate investment fund, not many people know it. The cons are poor networking, not that big name for CV. But it's what I like, investment analysis.
What would you suggest?
Thanks
What do you want to do afterwards?
Investment banking/real estate asset management
Considering how small the RE market in Italy is, I'd go with Copernicus. Most people in Milan would know about Copernicus and you'll have a better chance at lateraling to a better RE shop compared to doing a back office internship at Unicredit. IB it's a loooong shot, I'd stick to RE if I were you.
Thank you for your comment. That's what I thought too. The good pro in Unicredit is that i get the chance to work with the COO but as you said it's back-office. Even though they kind of promised me that at the end of the internship there could be more interesting positions open for me, but i don't know how much to trust them.
