Interning during the academic year

I'm currently entering my junior year in college and have gotten offers to intern at some big CRE firms (think JLL, CBRE, Colliers, etc..) they will pay only about a 40k and want me working around 30 hours a week. If I'm doing a full semester (15 credits) will working 30 hrs be too much and adversely affect my GPA? Or will the work experience be valued more by potential employers than my university GPA? Thanks for the input!

I did this for much less money on the principal side my senior year. I think my main question would be do you need to work to pay rent and enjoy yourself? Secondly, do you need the resume boost (non-target, etc)?

I worked through my junior/senior years and found the time manageable. I think it reflects positively on a resume as it demonstrates tenacity and time management, on top of being consistent work experience.

just continue to recruit hard for your junior summer internship and if you don’t have any resume experience yet, definitely work during the year and grind. imo college is overrated and being in a better spot afterwards is worth the effort. depending on the shop and if it’s in person, you might work more than 30 if it’s brokerage because of facetime. either way good spot to have.

You're the only one who can really answer this. 30 hours a week is a decent chunk of time, and in the grand scheme of things 30 hours of work + 15 hours of class + another 10-15 hours of homework is a busy ass schedule, but we can't tell you if your classes are hard enough or time demanding enough for that to be a problem.

Making $40k a year as a junior in college is pretty dope though
