Frat President on Resume
Hi all,
I’m thinking about running for President of my college fraternity and I was wondering if I should put it on my resume if I’m going into IB. Wondering if anyone could provide insight to how it would look on a resume etc. Thanks
Only if it’s prestigious / well regarded / has a lot of alum in finance. If you’re president of some dorkboy club, then probably not
He’s def President of Fiji or whatever worst ranked
.
I used it recruiting for my summer analyst stint on my resume and it was very helpful. A lot of stories and situations to talk about in an interview setting as long as you’re able to talk about it and be articulate. Be careful not to overdue it and come across as a total frat douche. Although at some banks that might be a positive.

As someone who was in a frat and had “leadership” roles, I wouldn’t add it to the resume
Inaccurate and foolish take. 100% include it on the resume. Including it post grad is another story but it will be extremely helpful on the resume when recruiting for internships.

I'd add it 100%. It can show leadership skills, how driven you are, and your ability to be likable. Sure, maybe don't have it five years down the line, but for a college kid, that's huge. Also helps big time if your interviewer/resume reviewer was in that frat as well.
