This is going to be my first time post on WSO as well.

I would first take out the 'Objective' section. At the end of the day, you will be applying for a specific position, so adding an 'Objective' section is just redundant given that your objective is to secure the job you're applying to...

It is also hard to customize a resume without knowing exactly what you want to get into...Finance is a very wide area, so the skillsets that are required for each silo are obviously very different (e.g., a resume for IBD should look nothing like one for S&T). So the key is to figure out which area you would like to look into, then subsequently go from there.

One general piece of advice I can give you is to make sure that everything you have on your resume ties together. When I interview candidates, my first move is to make sure that is always the case. For example, looking at your 'Experience' section, I can tell you were doing interships throughout the year of 2013. However, what happened between May and August of 2013? My first question if I was interviewing would be to ask why you were interning during the school year, but decided not to during the summer when most students actually apply for internship programs, etc...

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys!

I definitely agree that my first course of action should be finding out specifically where I want to go, but im sure as many of you also experience this is easier said than done.

To answer your question about the gap between my internships.... My University is sort of odd where it allows for internships throughout the school year. You can take your internship or "co-op" rotations whenever you need, and then return to school the next semester.

Too many bullet points. 2-3 (4 MAX per experience position-more are allowed under education). You don't need to mention everything you did, just the very strongest stuff.

I'm not an expert on writing resumes, but this is what I've heard from others: - Instead of having a long sentence of specifically what semesters you got on the Dean's list, write "Dean's List 6/8 semesters". You don't want to bore the reader. - Don't have bodybuilding on your resume. Weightlifting is alright as far as I know. - Don't include excel and powerpoint as technical skills. It's something everybody knows.
