Business School - what job is better

Hi Guys,

I am trying to figure out whether to accept a job offer... and my primary focus at this point is odds of getting into a top business school.

The situation is this:
I currently am an analyst doing data processing and validation at the Federal Reserve Board in DC. I have been doing so for about a year and a half and came here right out of college - a small (non-target) liberal arts institution where i double majored in mathematics and business economics. The job is alright, and I have been receiving progressively more responsibility and projects to work on as well as some leadership responsibilities of small research groups and the like.

I am considering a job with Huntington Bank in Columbus Ohio doing risk modeling. They are a large regional bank throughout the midwest. This job will pay better and I think likely will be more interesting work, but it seems to be somewhat of a departure from what I currently do.
*note: geography isn't that big of a deal for me. I have ties to Ohio which makes the geographical downsides of Ohio not much of a concern.

Ultimately the goal is to get into a top MBA program in a couple of years to help me break into IB or Management Consulting.

I would love to know what you guys think. Would doing risk modeling for Huntington help me more in the B school side than would continuing my work and progression doing data processing and validation for a much bigger brand name?

Thanks guys!
Andrew
