Just took GMAT and did well but...
I took the GMAT a few days ago and did pretty well overall 750 (48Q, 44V, 8IR) but I was wondering if my quant is too low for the best B schools since it's only lower 70 percentile nowadays. I'm aiming for the top B schools (HBS and the like).
I will say during the test my screen went blank and I got freaked out so that probably lowered my quant score. I usually always get 50 or 51 on practice tests. I just feel like it wouldn't be worth it to retake the test since everything else went well.
For undergrad, I went to a top 10 school (think UChicago, Duke, Penn) and studied engineering so my quant is actually pretty strong. I finished with around a 3.6 GPA in the hardest major at my school.
I'm an Asian male working at a software company in their consulting arm and I hope to start a company soon with a friend so my work experience is a bit non-traditional from most applicants. Advice would be appreciated.
Congrats dude! The overall score is more important than the breakup, and with a 750 you are fine for any school even HBS. Don't retake.
In your shoes, I would not retake.
I go to HSW and got a 760 (48Q, 47V, 99%). I think you're fine.
750 is great. Stop worrying and focus on other aspects.
