MSF Question about Placement Location

Currently an undergrad student in Chicago and have been considering getting an MSF right after graduating. I obviously want to get into a top program as it provides more opportunities, but with a program like Vandy's, I saw that almost half of their graduates were placed in the South. Being from Chicago, I'd ultimately like to settle down and work here.

I guess my question is, are graduates from Vandy, WUSTL, etc. placed in these regions by choice (they explicitly want to work there), or is OCR really focused in those areas?

Appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks in advance!

It's inertia. Vandy is a southern school and a lot if alumni work in the south. You can network and place anywhere though, it will just be more work.

Look at ND, UIUC, Northwestern, Michigan. All offer masters in management and have tons of alumni in chicago. Wustl will be a decent Chicago program as well.

Current MSF student at ND. If you are set on working in Chicago I highly recommend it be one of your strong considerations. The ND Alumni network is second to none and the city is crawling with Domers. Only thing to look into is the work experience requirement, as I am not sure if you need a minimum of 2 years work experience, or if it's desired. I would say that our programs age range is more that of an MBA program where the median age is probably 26-28.
