Strategy Consulting from PT —> MBA in London
I’ve accepted an offer for a quantitative trading firm, but I have some doubts about whether I want to pursue trading long term. I enjoy it at the moment, but it is very ‘boom or bust’ as a career, and doesn’t really have any value-add to society.
I have always found strategy consulting interesting, both from a skills perspective (relationship management and technical skills) and the type of work (lots of different projects, work having more meaning than PT).
Obviously I might settle into my role and decide to pursue PT long term, but in the case that I still want to switch to a more business orientated role, I will most likely have to do an MBA.
My question is, will consulting firms value my experience in PT? How difficult will it be recruiting post-MBA with my background?
