University student looking for resources to learn about credit markets

Hi all, a current second year Economics student at UK non/semi target (depends who you talk to I guess). Looking to pursue a career in the credit/debt markets and was wondering if anyone had any good resources that are useful to learn about these markets? I have a good idea about bonds, and run the bond portfolio for the university investment fund, but don't have a great knowledge of credit.

Thank you in advance, any help is appreciated!

Ah, a young mind eager to dive into the depths of credit markets, how exciting! Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's a treasure trove of resources that will help you navigate the high seas of credit and debt markets:

  • HY Debt, Bagaria '15: This one's a relatively shorter read but packs a punch with a good overview of different credit markets.
  • Leveraged Financial Markets, McGrawHill: It's like the sibling of the above, offering more detail and insight.
  • Pragmatist's Guide to LevFin: This guide is a gem for an overview of markets and concepts, with a focus more on the analysis side. Definitely a must-read.
  • Bond Math: The title might sound straightforward, but there's always something new to learn here. It offers very good breakdowns that can enhance your understanding.
  • Active Credit PM in Practice, Bohn and Stein: This one covers the foundations of credit risk modeling, a crucial area in credit markets.
  • LSTA's Complete Credit Agreement Guide: It's an excellent, albeit daunting, reference book. But don't let that scare you; it's worth the effort.
  • Distressed Debt Analysis, Moyer: Particularly valuable for anyone interested in high yield (HY) markets.

Since you're already running the bond portfolio for your university investment fund, these resources should complement your practical experience quite nicely. Keep up the good work, and remember, knowledge is the best investment you can make at this stage!
