Commodity Trader? Career Path?
HI all!
I have launched a forum to seek advice on my future career. I am a Japanese, currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Econ at a top school in Oceania. Recently, I have received an offer to become a commodity trader in Japan, and my superiors and executives are expressing expectations for me to aim for the position of a top trader. It seems that a well-known commodity trader from a renowned hedge fund has recently joined the company, which I believe creates a favorable learning environment in the early stages.
However, in terms of the direction of my career, I aspire to work not only in Japan but also in countries like the United States and Singapore, aiming for upside potential. As a future direction, what do you think about prioritizing learning the job first and then pursuing an MBA or an Online Master's degree? Additionally, for those who have transitioned from one country to another in their career, what approaches did they take?
Thanks.
