Execution trading career path

Hi there,

Im wondering what the career path could be for someone starting out in execution trading  at a top HF. Read in some places that it pigeon-holes you, but others have said that there is options to go to the sell-side or pívot into a research role if you have good relationships with PM’s and understand the market well.

Would really appreciate advice. Thanks
