Series-A Startup Compensation
IB analyst with ~1 year of experience. Interviewing at a few startups mainly post Series-A (some seed stage) and want to get a grasp of what total compensation I should be targeting. Is asking for $100,000 cash base unreasonable? What should I be targeting as a competitive total comp package?
Appreciate any insights.

Series A is now all over the place. It can mean $3m - $10m or $20m.
If you're coming into a strategy, chief of staff, senior finance role, etc, then asking for $120k - $150k base is totally reasonable. You can probably get away with $150k - $200k+. Startups have been very well funded over the last 2 years and no longer necessitate a big fixed comp cut.
Is this true for someone with 1 year of banking experience? Those ranges would all be decent bumps from my current IB salary.
Depends on where you worked and went to school given lack of exp. Startup founders are much dumber than 5 - 10 years ago though, so you probably won't have many issues pushing heavier comp.
I suggest using angel list and blind for startup role data points.
