Talk about a wide estimate - 3.5 billion to 233 billion in reserves. Sounds like the $20 trillion number is a bit premature.
The speed of shale field development is accelerating, but you're still talking several years before this is producing in any meaningful way. One of the reasons it has such a wide spread is the lack of information about the areal extent, vertical thickness, recoverability factor and the economics. It's exciting today, but it's years away from being a real thing.
