2006 Associates: What is your current base salary?
I know there was a similar thread on base salaries, but no one has specifically commented on the first year associate base (i.e. the year after the stub period).
Is it $100K or $105K?
Thanks

My guess is most users will be reluctant to post their base on this site. My base is 110K
hope this will go up this month...
Just curious, but whats that like after taxes for a single guy? NYC is pretty bad about that.
I think a good rule is 45% taxes, so 55% net. Probably a little high, but at least we're being conservative here.

wow, so basically without the bonus even an associate is barely getting by living in the city. I would hate to be working at Bear Stearns right now.
45% tax on a mere 95k salary at a bulge bracket for 2nd year associate? That is awful :( How do you guys manage to survive (let alone live)? I am also a 2006 IBD associate, but not in USA, fortunately.
Ivan, we can all tell you're a foreigner by your poor english. Thanks though.
