2017 Morgan Stanley/Goldman Sachs Sophomore Program
Hey guys, I've applied to Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs' sophomore programs in late August/early September and I was wondering if anyone has heard back yet. I realize how early on in the year it is, but given how much banks are accelerating their timelines (and that JP's superday for sophomores is coming up this week!), I wanted to see if anyone got news. Let me know!
Also, if anyone knows whether MS is restricted to minorities, please let me know!
JP's superday is this week?? Isn't their deadline in a week or something?
Nope, sophomore's is this week
?? On my school's application portal, they wrote: "Please note that the application deadline for this program is October 15 at 11:59PM." Do they do super days before the deadline? I suppose if you applied really early, that would be possible, but that posting was for AM, so perhaps we are talking about different programs.
The Launching Leaders program (JPM) takes sophomores.
I haven't heard from MS, JPM, or Citi yet and I have VP+ people forwarding resume for both places.
Yeah I had a JP S&T superday scheduled for this week but turned it down because of another offer I already have which everyone is telling me will set me up better for BB/EB IB next summer. This was for their launching leaders program
Ah okay. I'm not a diversity candidate so that's probably why I am on a later time frame.
btw, anyone heard back from GS?
bump
I had a phone interview (associate interviewed me not hr) with Morgan Stanley on the 29th for an equity research summer internship. Should I be concerned if I haven't heard back yet?
I wish firms would ask for proof of ethnicity or something because WTF is up with white and middle-eastern people participating in these programs?
You're surprised at the lengths people will go to supposedly give themselves a leg up?
It's unethical and extremely offensive. It's like that white lady who was in the NAACP.
anybody hear back from Citi, BAML, MS, or GS for sophomore? I got Citi's survey for preferences but havent heard back since
Could someone please provide the link to Goldman's sophomore program? I can't seem to find it anywhere :(
MS vs. GS sophomore programs? (Originally Posted: 08/17/2012)
What do you think are the relative merits of each? Is there a clear winner? Assume you'd be in top groups at both.
Get into some programs before you start thinking about questions like these.
^^^Yeah seriously... 15xEBITDA is right on.
As a sophomore, group won't really matter but it is better to get closer to FO positions in good divisions (i.e., you'd probably want to be in IBD or S&T > Asset Management > Risk Management or Any Other Middle Office).
Assume, you don't get in. Does it matter anymore?
Already received an offer to MS. Just wondering!
Unless you also have a position at the vampire squid - take it.
