I am a Canadian student and I quiet often do have random thoughts flowing into me about what to do with my undergrad education. How much of accounting knowledge should someone have in order to get a job at IBD for M&A? If designation is needed... which one? (Btw I am at Canada and I also wanna goto U.S if possible) CA? CPA? CMA? CGA?

Accounting knowledge is essential to IBD as well as other corporate finance roles. No designation needed in IBD, but definitely take at least a couple courses if you have the opportunity. It's the language of business.
