Advice/thoughts needed on interview

Hey Guys,

A friend of mine who is now in PE and worked for a top MM bank for a couple of years, submitted my resume to the bank's recruiter. After corresponding with the recruiter a few times, I was told they will be in contact with me in the near term regarding my candidacy, and to not hesitate about asking any questions that I may have. Since interviews are normally being wrapped up around this time, I emailed the recruiter last week, asking how the interview process works. I was hoping this would give me an answer as to whether they were still interviewing/recruiting. The recruiter told me how the process works and thanked me for my continued interest. From this email, it seems as if they are not done with their hiring process, but I'm not sure what to think or do. Just to give you some more info, the position I applied for was as a FT analyst.

What are your guys' thoughts about this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Most banks are wrapping up FT recruiting, but I did have a first round last week and have one this week so there are still some limited options. What bank is it? I am sure people on here have gone through the process this year or are at least waiting to hear back. I doubt a top MM firm has not started their recruiting efforts yet. If you have another contact at the bank, I would reach out to them and see if they can put in a word with HR for you.
