Am I Up against a wall............ Is it the end? Please pitch in your thoughts....

Little information on my background..... Age 27....International Undergraduate degree..Came to states and started working as a programmer....Went to evening college.Got interested in finance and Investment banking in particular. Done an internship at a small fund. Tried finding something related to finance, but due to dismal finance job market could not find anything. Managed something related to accounting. I kind of feel pigeon holed in my current position with no specific exit opportunities into finance.

Many of you would suggest that I should go for an MBA But with my background it would be very hard for me to make it to a target school. And even breaking into IB post MBA with out prior IB experience would be very hard from the information that i gathered. My best bet would be break in to a boutique firm and get some experience for 2 years and then apply for an MBA.

I know it is my passion that would decide the outcome. But Wanted to know how hard is it to get in as an analyst at 27 at a boutique firm. Have you seen this happened with anyone before or Is it the end ?

Thanks PasBanker
