Career Resources
Hey analyster.. Good to read a thread on IB in india.. Im studying in my final year BMS.. I aspire to join IB as a long term career... Ive done a couple of internships at a BB...(Their back-end Research centres catering to Bankers)...Now i hav a final offer in hand from another BB but again for their back-end centre (although the work involved here would be more of analytics than the previous one)...Im also in the final recruitment stages in a Boutique Indian IB. Which offers a front end analyst profile.
Im caught up in quite a dillema between choosing a BB for their back-end centre or a Boutique indian IB for their Front-end team.
Any thoughts/ suggestions/ roadmap would be extremely helpful.
Thanks in advance.
Definitely go for the boutique firm..
Avoid the (slightly) higher pay as a backend analyst. It totally sucks for your career, or so i've heard.
Should be easier for u to jump ship to a bigger name in about 1-2 years.
Thats my sincerest suggestion. Although i doubt that only a BMS would take you forward. Indian based ibanks (MorganStanley, Merril, kotak, icici, ABN, Citi, HSBC etc) require an MBA.
cheers
