I consider myself very fortunate in that I discovered VC almost by accident when I was invited to start consulting for my current employer via a fellow finance convert.
Anyone else come from another industry all together? I know that it is very rare to be able to forego the analyst stint, and I am wondering if anyone either has done it themselves or knows anyone who has simply migrated laterally after working in another facet in industry whether it be tech or accting or what have you....

Another engineer here, trying to get into banking. I'm currently going the MBA route and will try to get in at the Associate level.
