Analyst / Associate Promotion Perks
I've heard of many people receiving sign-on bonuses and/or significant time off in the summer following a 3rd analyst year before starting as an associate role. What is the typical mix of additional comp and time off?
...get a sign on bonus.
they don't have to do the assoc. training, but have to get the series 7 and 63 licenses. not sure about the time off.
My cousin at Lehman/Barclays got a month off between 3rd year Analyst/Associate
Here is the package at a top BB, I know because a friend just received it and turned it down
3rd year analyst to associate promote:
$40k signing bonus (must stay on for one year from starting as an associate)
6 week vacation - July 1 - 2nd week in august
2.5 months of training....then you become a better paid/ glorified analyst...
2.5 months of training? is this mandatory?
Basically, its exactly what madgames said. You get the same signing bonus as a fresh associate, $40k at most banks. The long paid vacation is not standard, but they will let you take your accrued vacation days at most places around the associate training. You will also have the option to take the associate training program, which at some places is as long as 10 weeks. This is basically a very long paid vacation where you get to network with the other associates, so who would ever say no.
Also, you get a raise to normal associate levels and basically no change in your responsibilities
Pretty sweat deal, no?
is this also true for s&t? asking because most people (at least in trading) don´t leave for an MBA after 2 or 3 years

Do third years that get directly promoted to associate typically get some sort of bonus, to substitute for the $50k +/- that new associates make? Also, what has stub bonus this year been like for new associates?
