Background Check - Job Title

On my resume for my summer internship in PWM I put the title Summer Analyst. It is a fairly small firm and I never really received an official title so I thought that would be ok. I got a full time offer and will be having a background check soon, so I have been checking everything out to make sure its clears. I called my old boss and asked for the official title and he said it was Operations Intern. I did not embellish any of my responsibilities (he basically wrote my bullet points for me) and told my interviewer that I interned in operations. Is this going to be a big problem in the background check, and should I inform HR of this now before it costs me the job?

Thanks, WSO

The job is actually not in banking, its a f500

From what I've read the title check is really to make sure that you're not promoting yourself to apply for higher up positions. FWIW also I have not filled out an online application yet and will definitely put operations intern there.

Thoughts?

Wait, REALLY??? So as long as I'm going roughly lateral, there's some room for spin?

last bump, anyone at all have advice? Is this not as big a deal as I am making it seem? Should I call HR before the bg check process gets underway (something like 2 months from now)

Thanks for all the help guys, I have one more question also. I have a misdemeanor from when I was about 19, for underage gambling in AC. I was there at a birthday party with some friends, was on the floor watching them play (not even playing) and we all got ID'd and I ended up with this charge. I completely forgot about it, but thankfully I have not filled out an official application for the job yet. When I do fill this out, should I mention the charge? I did a background check on myself from integrascan and it didn't come up, but a phone call to the AC Municipal Court says its in their records. Is this a big enough deal to get the offer rescinded?

Again, thanks...maybe I'm being a little too paranoid but I really want thejob.
