Being Blunt, is it bad?

There is this person I know (not on this website) who I have to, sadly, be lab partners with and she is very rude, loud and obnoxious. She claims she is very blunt (what ever the fuck that means).

I guess that means she is always honest 100% of the time, but don't care about how she hurts other peoples feelings?

Now, I know many of you are going to say sack up and hit and quit it. But, this has gotten me thinking is being blunt in Finance good? I understand it's a relationship Business so is being blunt a good think? Will it help you to further your career are will you just be thought of that asshole no one wants to hang around with after work and thus decremental to your career?

I guess it all comes down to there is a way to say things to people and is always being blunt that way?

i would say it might or might not be "decremental"

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen."

No one buys it when someone shoots their mouth off and then follows it up with "I'm blunt" or "it's a joke". Get to the point, stick to the facts, be cool about it. Think, then speak, soooo simple.

lol... gotta love when bitches that yell all the time say that they're just being blunt.

just say "No, you're fucking annoying. This is being blunt."

You can be blunt and still care about other peoples' feelings. Being blunt does not necessarily = you being an asshole.

If your dreams don't scare you, then they are not big enough. "There are two types of people in this world: People who say they pee in the shower, and dirty fucking liars."-Louis C.K.

You can present things truthfully and tastefully, and politely at the same time - a lot of people who claim to be "blunt" or "brutally honest" are really just douche bags.

However, things could be worse. Cheer up blastoise, counting your mom, this increases the number of girls you will have talked to by 100%!

I've just got out of the most boring 2 hour meeting where nothing was said, no conclusion made. The whole time I wished I was senior and blunt enough to stop the meeting, say that I was bored and that if nothing of value was going to be said that we should all go back to real work.

Blunt is bad-ass when you're senior and very good at what you do.
