Best way to reach out to Boutiques without Alum connections

How do most of you guys get in contact with boutiques about internships? I have been emailing the contact page of their website and attatching a resume. Most of them don't have internships listed. Any tips would be great, thank you.

If you want to get some results, first you have to have a good resume. Then, I would forget about using the emai they have on the front page. What I would do and have done, is call the bank and ask "who takes care of recruiting."

You will usually get a "we are not hiring right now...blah blah. Don't let this discourage you. You have to be persistant. If you can't get in contact with someone ask for an email and send your resume. Once you have sent your resume, make sure you follow up with a call or email in three days. Hope this helps. Best of luck. PM Me if you have more questions.

I would request to speak with someone about investment banking first. I've noticed and heard from several bankers that they are much more willing to speak with someone who is asking about the industry, rather than bluntly asking for a job. If you simply ask for a job it sounds like you're just using them. They know what you want in the end, but this is a better and more polite way to go about it.

I agree that calling is more effective. They can't ignore a phone call.

Disclaimer: if they don't have a formal internship program, beware. Make sure you will be getting solid work experience vs. office bitch work.
