Boss just said I look demotivated?

Hey guys, currently an intern at a major F500 company. Boss slipped in today that he's noticed I look demotivated sometimes. How do I fix this? Or should I be reading anything into this? (hidden meaning etc?)

Probably a hint that you won't be invited to come back full time. Also a precursor to a performance review which will be less than stellar.

I think something to ask is ARE you demotivated? All of the above are great answers. But I think you need to consider why you might be coming across as demotivated and then pursue a solution from there.

Being an intern myself, it's not always fun but I have learned a ton. Try to take away as much from the experience as possible.

Listen, here's the thing. If you can't spot the sucker in the first half hour at the table, then you are the sucker.

Tell him to go fuck himself. If you're demotivated, he's probably not utilizing you correctly.

Seriously though - ask him for suggestions or advice. "What steps can I take to change this?" Be proactive and then do what he tells you to do when he responds.

Easier said than done, but try to focus more on your forward-looking actions than what has already happened. You can probably pinpoint where you gave that impression and work to modify your approach and the way your present yourself so people are seeing that you work hard.

Regarding your offer, it may be decided or it may not be (I don't know when your internship ends). It is worth your time to put your head down, work very hard, act excited at all times, and then see what happens at the end.

Do you suffer from permanent bitch face?

Start looking for other jobs. Now. For whatever reason, they think you don't fit.

ORRRRR......get super motivated. I sugges 5 hour energy :)

Get busy living

Are you getting proper feedback on a regular basis? If not, I'd try to schedule some time to go over strengths/weaknesses/next steps just so if there is a hidden meaning, you can identify the issue and fix it for your end review.
