Getting a job in European hedge fund

Hello everybody,

I am wondering if anybody around here has some experience with landing a job in a European hedge fund straight from undergrad? I am currently entering my last year at the university (BA in Finance & Accounting), having two internships on the resume (first one in a mutual fund as a bond analyst and the second one in a private equity firm as a private equity analyst) and starting part time analyst job at a private equity firm at the beginning of the October. I am living in Eastern Europe, so my languages are fluent English and native Eastern European language. Are there any chances of landing a job in any country other than UK (wild language barriers appear)? Any general thoughts on the European hedge fund industry? Thanks in advance.

That database thing is terrific. Thanks buddy. I'm in the most socialist country in Europe (France if you didn't get it), and I am unfortunately not studying at one of the school you wrote about but simply at non target. I know that I have to focus my researches in London and in Switzerland, hopefully it will pay someday. Do you guys think that I should even settle for an ops role at HF to have a foot in the door ? I know that my background is nothing to brag about and my resume doesn't really stand a chance against students from HEC/ Oxbridge etc
