Yes sir - really good chances. Just make sure you apply as early as possible - I've heard of people being screwed over due to a late application. As long as you have a good story of why NYU/Columia!
I appreciate the feedback. Do you think it would be worth it to apply to Wharton based on those stats? I initially thought I would be a "desk kill" but maybe not.
Sorry for the late reply - You never want to live with the, "what-if I did this..." belief. Your stats are solid and you never know what "sticks out" on your application. Maybe one of your experiences/personal statement hit home with one of the admissions officers and she/he wants to take you in for an interview. You just never know. Honestly, the only downside is an expensive application fee and some of your time, but to me, the benefits far outweigh the worst possible outcome, which is getting denied.
Best of luck!
this could work at columbia, i'd definitely encourage you to apply early decision there if that's where you want to be. Stern should be doable. I think Wharton will be very tough given non prestige finance career, non elite undergrad, and below avg GMAT.
