Career prospects of compliance internship
Hi all,
I've accepted an offer for an internship next summer in compliance at a Big 4 bank. I'm definitely looking forward to the experience, but I study a very quantitative/ maths-heavy subject, and after a good amount of research and thinking, I've come to the conclusion that in terms of a long term career path, risk management and s&t are much more up my alley.
Will interning in compliance help me secure a risk graduate position at the bank/ other BB banks, seeing as the two fields are closely related? Will it have any impact whatsoever on me gaining a graduate role somewhere in trading (given my university subject), or would there be a little to no effect? I'm also quite interested in strategy consulting (I've interned at a Big 5 consultancy in the past) and was wondering whether it would impact my chances here.
Thanks in advance for your help.
