charles tyrwhitt sizing
so i recently ordered three slim fit shirts from ct, but i am a bit worried after reading some posts on wso about their sizing (i think i should have read this prior to my purchase).
i am 6'2"/230lbs. the shirts i ordered are 16.5/36. on their website, they say the chest size for a shirt like that would be ~45, however after reading previous posts, monkeys have been saying that a ct slim is pretty tight. i wear RL slim fit shirts right now so i had assumed it would be pretty similar, however fear that it may not. are ct slim fit shirts really tight?
in the case that they are not, i guess i can exchange them (what a hassle). i live in nyc; have any of you ordered shirts from ct and then exchanged them at one of their stores?
cheers

ya those may be a bit tight.
ya those may be a bit tight. i ordered 16.5/35 and they fit well but i am only 6' 180lbs
RL slim fit is probably more
RL slim fit is probably more like CT regular fit, CT is European cut.
I bought CT tailored fit and
I bought CT tailored fit and its not extremely slim. I can imagine their slim fit isnt so bad.
I think if you can wear slim
I think if you can wear slim fit RL without going up a size then they should fit just fine. If you have any brooks brothers shirts and their slim fit fits tight on you then I would be worried. They are great about returns. I haven't returned at a store but I don't see why they wouldn't let you.
thanks for the input guys. i
thanks for the input guys. i should be getting them this week and will try it out. ive never worn a BB shirt, pretty much just stick to RL but there was a great deal (the amex one) so i jumped on it cause i like their cutaway collars.
Let us know how it works out
Let us know how it works out (I'm trying to place an order with them too and we have similar dimensions)
CT Slim Fits are not slim...
CT Slim Fits are not slim...
If you have the athletic
If you have the athletic build, slim waist broad shoulders, the slim fit or tailored fit work just fine. There's not much of a difference between slim fit and tailored in my opinion. If you have a big chest, it does tend to be more fitting, but it shouldn't be too tight.
will let you guys know.

I am the same height, but lower weight by about 25 lbs wearing 16/33. Regular fit were pretty billowy around the chest/waist, but not too bad. The killer was the shoulders. They were way too broad. Exchanged for the slim fit and it seems to work perfectly for me.
ok guys, got the shirts....no
ok guys, got the shirts....no go. i need to exchange them. they are way to tight around the upper chest and collar. will need to probably go with a 17/36 regular or 17/37 (if they have it) or 38 regular. will be hopefully exchanging tomorrow at the store
