choose between GS, McK and Deutsche offers

Hi, all

Sincerely appreciate any advice on the following...
I am in a very fortunate dilemma

(1) Goldman Sachs - Associate, IBD

(2) Deutsche - AVP, Private Equity

(3) McKinsey - Associate, Private Equity Practice

which one to pick or turn down?

Thanks in advance!

What's your prior experience and what do you want to do longer term? If you'd like to be in IBD long-term, the GS offer makes more sense. If you'd like to be in PE, the DB offer probably makes more sense. If you'd like to keep your options open, the McKinsey option might make more sense, though all of them are fine in that respect. They're all good options, but they are also all very different options.

how the fuck does someone sharp and experienced enough to land these positions ask these questions. i refuse to believe this shit is real.

first of all, you should probably be able to decide yourself if you're at the associate level b/c you know where you want to be long term, have probably developed goals, etc. If not, I guess it's certainly fine to ask for advice, but give some specifics. I don't see how anyone can tell you what to do with your career or what offer to take with simply a list of three positions. What is your situation, career goals, concerns about pursuing various routes...

now, I say all that, but am actually in no position to offer an experienced point of view, so i won't...but I don't think it takes much experience to look at these types of posts and see them for what they are, and that is retarded.

@Enrico, I was told i would be placed in their PE(industry) practice and I am hired by their Corp Finance (functional) practice. McKinsey has both functional and industry practices so I am guessing its a matrix structure at McKinsey

@Tandaradei, I assure you its not a troll

@Edtky , Gutshot: AVP is higher than Associate in Deutsche

@swagon : I am really undecided. Its a sincere question

You must be an idiot if you didn't know "AVP" was higher than associate - it's not just Deutsche, it's the case everywhere. My question was, "are you actually offered a role as AVP or associate in Deutsche?" as you had alluded to being offered a position as an associate on another forum but claim to be an AVP here.

Its AVP.
